Boy was it a trying week. Seriously my job is pushing me to new extremes. I’m bound to lose it at any moment at this point. Heath came up with this awesome quote this week that I feel like represents almost everyday I faced at work this week

Ditto on being scared by writing. I like to blame my more gruesome side of writing on my love of horror movies and the fact that my subconscious usually dishes out scarier things when I'm asleep, anyway. XD
And that sucks about your "new" book arriving damaged! This is one of the reasons why I'm glad I'm currently stuck buying books straight from a store: I get to rifle through all the copies until I find one pristine enough to be worth the cover price! (Although I agree about sacrificing the need for a flawless copy if it's out-of-print. There's this series I loved that went out of print, and when I found the few damaged books I needed to complete it, I jumped at the chance to buy them!)

The new books not that bad truthfully, I'm just ridiculously anal about keeping paperbacks in perfect shape. I barely even open the book all the way when I'm reading them. That's why I prefer to just buy hardbacks so I don't have to be so careful.
