Two small typos I thought you might want to know about:
John had loaned her on a worn-looking baseball cap and his jacket.
The self-disgust she heard in his voice makes her heart ache.

Very nice! I love how her nanites are evolving. And it's just so believable that John would come back for her. I love their easiness with each other, even after 2 years. This has the feeling of a great episode . . . along the lines of Vegas. Great job.
