This is the translation of Arena magazine and it's prettly long. ^^;; And somehow I feel the need to aoplogize for the dramatic opening. <.<

Much thanks to the lovely gekka_no_neko, crescent_yume, and Saori for all the help. ^^ *hugglies ( Read more... )

I love Gackt. Because I can see him walking into NC saying, "OK, listen to these songs. They're great! They're just not for THIS album." Good Lord, he's got balls. For all his maturity and stature, sometimes he just reminds me of a wide-eyed, curious and petulant child.

And having seen the stage and the theatrics involved in the Diabolos tour, yes he most certainly went over budget. In fact, I think he blew the budget clear out of the water. But it makes me smile that he laughs about it. Like, eh~it's only money. XD

Thanks!

That has to be one of the greatest statements I've ever read. He really is like a child... and at the same time, sometimes like an old man for his traditionalism and conservatism.
Oh Gackt... what is to be done with you?

Glad you liked it. The man is a constant paradox. He's one of the most complex, yet simple people I've ever seen. A very unique treasure of a man.

That's our man for you. X3 Oh my, I'm totally having an image of kid Gackt staring at me with his big, wide eyes now. *paws?* >.>;;

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! XD Welcome~~~

XD Someday I'm going to write comments which are longer than the article itself. XD Thank you for reading! ^^

Well! I say bring it on!! I bet I can write longer comments than you! =P In fact, prepare for the long comment of all long comments!! XD I've had to split it in two because 5233 characters is definitely too much to sneak past the 4300 character limit! XDD

to say that it felt like the loneliness of a long-distance love relationship won’t be too far-fetched indeed.

Heh. I love their dramatics. And you're absolutely right. All the interviewers do seem to have a genuine liking and respect for him.

And the tour this time, “DIABOLOS ~哀婉の詩~”, is right in between the second and third chapters. XD It amuses me so how he's making this story with 4 chapters, and then manages to put Diabolos exactly IN BETWEEN them. XD ( ... )

But while there is the you who are analyzing over these things for a long period of time, there is also the you who live day by day in real time. [1] Does a time lag arise between these two sides?

Yeah, I can imagine that. To get so absorbed in your work, to have it in your mind almost 24 hours a day, especially when it's a big thing, a separate, complicated world and history like that, can make you forget about the "real world" sometimes. Can make you seem scatterbrained even if you aren't usually.

Heh, interesting how he experiences creating a simple sound as stressful. But of course, with the radical change of style, he has to hold himself back from making the kind of music he is used to.

But it’s really horrible this time! Expenses are way too high. There might be people who think they can make profits by holding tours, but there is no such thing at all!I just have to laugh at that. XDDD No, not the way he does it! XD And that's exactly why he does all the commercials and movie/tv series/game tie-ins. So he can use the money he ( ... )

I wonder if it gets really bad at times... when he starts living in that world too. Has that ever happened to you before? Where the fantasy world that you created started to merge with the real world?

Hehehe, yeah... it's total opposite from his normal style. X3

Ahahahahahahahaha... XDDD I really DO love tofu! XD

Thank you for the long comment!! I love reading them! X33 *HUGGLIES*

Wow, awesome interview! I actually really like seeing interviews that don't focus entirely on the release of one single or album, and I think that was a nice little overview of what Gackt has been up to this year. I really go the sense that the interviwer understood what Gackt was saying and respected - there seemed to be an amount of genuine interest in his questions ( ... )

It is!! :D I had a great time translating it, because you get to read so many thoughts and views of Gackt on certain topics. I love these kinds most! ^^ I agree with you fully on that. I've never once felt that he was being ridiculed and put down by any of the interviews. On the contrary, there seem to be a relaxed atmosphere to it, almost like a conversation between friends. ^^

Hehehe, you are most welcome!! ^^ Yeah, that's why I hoped these translations can let the other people have something to look at/think over. :D

Well, there is no worry about that. ^^ Gackt hasn't talked about retiring yet, the man still has a long, long way to go. ;D And he does intend to finish Moon Project, as a matter of fact, he has even set a deadline for himself. Year 2007. :D

So much about determination, commitment and above having pride in what we do and having respect for ourselves.I feel you on that one. I've gained so much through him... He taught me courage, and I think that's the most I've learned from him. To pursue what we want and have ( ... )

He taught me courage, and I think that's the most I've learned from him. To pursue what we want and have faith in the things we do. That's part of the reason why I respect him so much. Because he is someone real in this world which is fast disappearing into something... "mechanic".

^^ I understand what you mean~ I love him, faults and all, and I will not have it any other way. And yes, he does. This man is meant to shine bright.

*sigh* God... exactly with you on that.

I AM SO HAPPY THAT YOU TRANSLATED THIS. Really. You have no idea. It's because he talks about his fascination with vampires, which is pretty much what led me to falling in love with him in the first place.

I found out about MALICE MIZER before I knew Gackt was solo, and I fell in love with them because they are kind of "stuck" in the past. Rather, they are archaeologists (like Gackt-san said he is). I love the history they love, and I've been into vampires since I saw Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire when I was six. I loved MALICE MIZER because they were so much like me, and they were just so appealing. I guess you could say we "have stuff in common."

But GACKT. Oh my god, GACKT. He was so...amazing...to me. He was beautiful, talented, emotional, passionate, AND FREAKING SEXY AS HELL. When I found out MALICE MIZER was broken up and Gackt was solo, I immediately found out as much as I could about him. Of course I knew he liked vampires, since he wrote the lyrics to Transylvania and such, but it's amazing reading about his ( ... )

I know exactly what you mean. I mean he's so... intelligent, so .. just.. incredible.

I have heard that he went to college, but I guess it doesn't really fit with the timeline he gives us, does it? I dunno... perhaps.

I know he worked in a casino for a while, which is hot =D

He's an incredible, smart, funny, adorable, wonderful man, all wrapped up in one amazingly sexy package =D

I agree with everyo word you just said XD

Can you imagine Gackt working in a casino? THAT'D BE SO HAWT *drools* XD Seriously though, I can't imagine him going to college, but he's so freaking smart >< Maybe he did for just a few years. And I know he reads a lot...hmm...

X33 Thank you!! For enjoying this translation. ^^

Ahh, I got to know Gackt because of my love for vampires too. My friend recommended Moon Child, and I was just so touched by the movie. And erm, after many , many wanderings, I finally got to where I am now. XD But it all started with vampires. :D

You are absolutely right! It was so awesome reading the article and seeing where he gets his inspiration from and how it ties to what he is doing! Aah, just amazing! Hahaha, no, the man isn't really quite intelligent, the man IS intelligent. X33

Awww, really, thank you very much!! I'm really glad I could be useful to other people in some ways. .____. *opens the door wide* Come on in!! XD

*revives you* XDDD You are most, most welcome, sweetie. ^^

That part about him going over budget on the concerts just melts my heart.

Infact, all of it does.

He just... even in a different language... has such a way of connecting with my feelings.

I love Gackt not only for the music, but also for the incredible relevance that he seems to have to my life and where I am right now.

Permission to post that part in my lj? I'll credit of course ^^

^^ That's because... he is so real and honest. It's just not possible to stay unaffected, he is such a ball of energy and positivity. XD And might I add, highly addictive too. ;)

I know. ^^ And yeah, sure!! >.>;; I always reply really late... Sorry!! ;;____;;
