Author's Notes/Warnings: There were things that were supposed to happen before this, but I finished this and haven't finished the other things. So whatever. Mia and Jason have been living together for at least a few weeks by now... so you know. It's not important though.

Jason dealt out the cards between himself and Mia as she made her piles of chips into neat columns. He was kind of against playing poker if they weren’t actually betting anything. He had money, and he knew she had money but she said they were just playing for fun and betting would make things unfriendly. So whatever, he didn’t care. Not that Mia was paying attention anyway, unless her babbling about everything under the sun was a way to distract him or something. And considering she seemed to be winning, it was working.

“As incestual as it seems I really do like Connor.” Mia said and let out a small sigh. “I mean the boy is perfect. He’s more handsome then anyone in the whole entire world for one thing. And he’s sweet, and patient, and cute and he doesn’t know anything and he’s so innocent.” She frowned slightly and looked at her cards. “But he’s to good for me. He’s to perfect I mean I deserve someone more like Dodger.” She tossed some of her chips onto the table and paused for a moment. “I think he’s gay anyway.”

Jason snorted as tossed some of his own chips onto the table. “Didn’t Dodger cheat on you?”

Mia rolled her eyes and nodded her head. “Yes, with Emma Watson. What the hell?”

“She’s famous, you should have given him a free pass.” He said as he flipped over one of the cards and they both bet more money.

“Listen, I like Harry Potter as much as the next person.” Mia said. “I do. But you don’t get a free pass for Emma Watson. If it had been someone like Maggie Smith, or Emma Thompson, or Gary Freaking Oldman then alright. But no, she’s cute, but she’s not that good. Yet…”

He smirked and shook his head as he flipped three more cards over and they bet more money. “So if you saw him again?”

“He wouldn’t stand a chance. Once a cheater always a cheater.” Mia said and pushed all of her chips in. “All in beyotch.”

Jason frowned at his cards for a moment trying to decide what to do.

“What about you?”

“I’d give a free pass if my girlfriend made out with Emma Watson.” Jason said absently as he frowned. “What the hell have you got?” He asked sending Mia a glare.

She just smiled and shrugged her shoulders. “Go all in and you’ll find out.” She said. “Anyway, that isn’t what I meant. I meant do you like someone? Have any crushes? Someone out of your league perhaps?”

Jason arched an eyebrow at her. “I don’t like you if that’s what you’re getting at.”

Laughing, Mia looked pretty proud of her self for a moment as she brushed her hair over her shoulder. “Well thank you for recognizing I’m out of your league. But that isn’t what I meant. Who do you have a crush on?”

“No one. I’m not in the seventh grade.”

“You act like it.” Mia said. “You don’t like anyone?”

“No.”

“You’re a liar.” Mia said rolling her eyes. “What about… Oracle?” She watched Jason closely for a moment. “You probably did when you were younger, didn’t you? Oh… Dick?” Jason’s face went from impassive to a glare and Mia laughed. “I’m just asking. I don’t know. He’s a really good looking guy. Like Really, Really good looking. Fine… no.” She paused for a moment and smiled to herself. “What about Donna Troy?”

There was a moments pause and Jason tossed his cards on the table. “I’m folding.” He said and stood up looking down at Mia. “This is boring. I’m going to take a shower.”

“So it is Donna? Is that why you hate Kyle?” Mia laughed and shook her head. “They haven’t dated in like forever, what’s the big deal?”

“I hate Kyle because he’s a tool. And I never said I liked Donna.”

“No, but you do.” Mia said and smiled slightly. “Come on Jason. You never say anything. I tell you all this stuff about me liking Connor and everything but you never say anything. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s just Donna, she isn’t even here. I won’t tease you about it.” Jason sent her a look that clearly said he didn’t buy that and she laughed slightly. “Ok I will. But not when she’s around.” Jason rolled his eyes. “Fine I’ll do that too. But Christ you said it yourself, we’re not in seventh grade. Who the hell cares if you have a crush on her.” She watched Jason walk away to take a shower and she sighed. “I’m just assuming I’m right.” She called after him.

When he came out of the shower and went to sit in the living room where Mia was watching TV she looked over at him. Jason looked back at her for a moment. “What?”

“So Donna Troy, huh?”

Jason rolled his eyes. “You’re still on about this?”

“Still? You were in the shower for like ten minutes. God, I don’t forget things that quickly.” Mia said and then sighed slightly. “I get it she’s really beautiful. Roy used to date her you know. So she’s probably good in bed.. What? I’m just saying.” She added after she caught Jason’s glare.

“It’s not like that.” Jason said in a short voice looking at the TV.

“Then what’s it like?” Mia asked. “Is it because she’s nice? I mean she is really nice…”

“She’s…” Jason trailed off for a moment and looked over at Mia who was watching him closely. “Forget it…” He said and Mia rolled her eyes.

“This really is serious, isn’t it?”

“I just don’t like talking about stupid shit like this.”

“This isn’t stupid Jason.” Mia said. “Liking people and having crushes on people, it’s not embarrassing. Liking Donna isn’t stupid or embarrassing. I have a crush on Connor, he’s like my brother, that’s embarrassing. It’s ok, Jason. This is a no judgment zone.” He gave her a disbelieving look and Mia held up her hand. “Scouts promise.”

“Scouts…?”

“Ok, I’ve never been in the girl scouts. But I buy cookies from them religiously. That’s close enough.”

Jason leaned back in the couch and shrugged his shoulders. “I used to like Donna.”

Mia snorted. “Used to…” She muttered under her breath and Jason glared at her. “Sorry…”

“She’s nice. She’s the only person who has never… looked down on me.” Jason said looking forward at the TV. “But it doesn’t even matter. Me ever dating her would be like you ever dating Connor. It‘s not going to happen.”

Mia pulled a face, “Well…”

“What?”

“Well I’m just saying, Donna isn’t perfect.” Mia said and looked over at Jason. “She dated Roy, And I never actually knew her husband but from what Roy says he wasn’t that great. Of course he could have just been jealous. But I’m just saying she has shown questionable taste in men before. You could totally have a chance.” She patted Jason on the back and her mouth twitched as she held back a smile.

Jason sat in silence for a minute before he shook his head. “Thanks Mia.” He said getting up and walking out of the room.

“What?” Mia called after him laughing. “Come on, I was being supportive!”
