*sigh* just further confirmation that my thesis was written as a grad student paper and not for undergrad level.

My undergrad thesis was written under these conditions too --- that is why its called an "honors thesis". I spent 3 months doing research in an archive, in addition to all the prelim work. I had to defend my thesis as if it were a dissertation.
