Things are going quite well

Thanks to my amazing friends (particularly Molly/singswithtrees and Nika/schmot_gurl) I've earned about $174 from commissions and have only $250 left to go on my convention funds. At this rate I'll make my goal in no time. I just bought my Comic-Con 4-day pass tonight which is a huge relief because those things can sell out rather quickly. It also got me majorly excited ( Read more... )

*sighs* I wish I could commission you, but I've got to watch the money myself at the moment.

I had a vet once that charged 100 € for a simple consultation where he didn't end up doing anything other than run his hands over the horse ... Got a cheaper one now, though, that will actually explain things so I always feel I've ended up learning something new and useful.

YOU'RE GOING TO COMIC-CON!!! YAY!! Everyone wins. :D

Are you calculating convention funds with or without Kumoricon? I can't quite get the math to work, but I hope you can go there too!

Have a fun weekend!

And look, everyone, Gen drew me both of these icons! Aren't they awesome??

(the sad icon on this comment is for demonstration purposes, not a mood indicator)

(I'm the same person as above, just switched journals to show off more icons)

Without. But I think that, one way or the other, we'll get her there. By hook or by crook, as they say. I'm going to be commissioning her for the stepsister!Dimo dress and wig, so that's more towards that end.

With smart planning, she'll get up here with us for Kumoricon. And I think that we can do it.

Ooh, stepsister!Dimo costume! That's going to be great. How's the Dimo!Dimo costume going? ;)

And yep, I'm sure we'll manage somehow.

Ack! Yes, I'm sorry. I just barely got around to calling my mother back let alone answering e-mails and such. I'll go write up a quote and send a reply right now.

What about my commission? You aren't mad at me or anything are you? :D

Of course not! But I've only gotten one commission from you and I haven't even gotten any money for it yet. Molly and Nika have commissioned me several times and a good portion of the money I've already earned has been from them. Molly's also been spreading the word to her friends and family. I've already gotten commissions from her brother and her best friend. I was just naming the most prominent names responsible for my earnings thus far, that's all. Don't worry, you're on the list of people I'll thank during my Academy Awards speech when I post my con reports. ^_^

I'm... confused. If you're talking about the boots, I sent you a check for that months ago (you didn't get it? This concerns me...). I was talking about the sword-hanger idea -- I assumed since you never got back to me with a quote or anything that you were all taken care of. So... hence the confusion :)

Oh! The check for the boots I put right into my personal checking account and paid for half a tank of gas with it. ^_^ So thank you very much but that $15 doesn't get the official label of "convention funds". That was WAY the heck before I started thinking about convention stuff for this year.

And that sword-hanger idea... I'm not sure how I'd be able to help with that. Unless you're thinking about something that can be sewn or a wig that's going to hold up the sword, lol... I could decorate one or something.

Okay, first off, what are you thinking of exactly? Sword mounts are usually made of wood, right?
