Man, I've been lazy lately. That's most likely why I haven't been posting here very often. In fact, last time I posted any real update of any kind was my Kumoricon report which was almost two months ago. Gah
( Read more... )
Thanks. My foot hates me right now. Though honestly I think it's telling me that I've been working myself WAY too hard lately and I need a vacation. *sigh* I just wish I could take one.
Disneyland. With the Foglios. Dood. That is epic. Your fangirl super-saiyan-type pwrlvl must be over 9 million by now.
And you're making me nostalgic for Disneyland! I practically lived there when I was a kid. When I was really little, I actually used ride tickets! My grandmother turned in a whole shoebox full of extra tickets when they converted to the full day passes. I bet even with all the changes, I could still give tours on expert mode.

It's definitely through the roof, that's for sure. I'm so paranoid now. I feel almost hated by other fans. Well, maybe not hated. I had a no-so-good experience in another fandom a few years ago where I made friends with one of the actors and people didn't believe me. They said I was making stuff up for attention. I swear I don't make stuff up! I'm just... ridiculously lucky or something. I don't know! So yeah. Paranoid. :\
And haha! I remember ride tickets. There's a cast member cafeteria that's called the "Eat Ticket" and I still have to explain why that's funny to some of the people I work with. Most of them are kids but occasionally an older person won't get it either. They're usually not locals.
I'm a firm believer in the idea that people make their own luck. (Which is why I was all "D'oh!" when you pointed out that fun works the same way.) Don't worry about other people.
"It's like a Harry Potter fan getting to hang out with J.K. Rowling for the day."
Yeah, you're absolutely right. And I'm a firm believer in it, too. I just have to remind myself sometimes. And it doesn't always help the paranoia go away. Still, when I'm actually in Disneyland with the Foglios it'll be the last thing on my mind. ^_^
I'm quite impressed with all those pictures. That's an amazing costume, and a very nice horse. {SMILE}
I'm concerned about your knee. I hope they figure out what's wrong and fix it. {concerned look, HUGS, SQUEEZE, BIG SQUEEZE, GREAT BIG SQUEEZE, GREAT BIG LONG TIGHT SQUEEZE, GREAT BIG LONG TIGHT ROCKING SQUEEZE}
At least the visit sounds fun. I hope you get to play tour guide, and enjoy dinner and everything! {REALLY BIG GRIN}
Eee! Thank you! I know, a lot of people (including myself) had been waiting so long for those pictures. I still have to go back and look through them, they make me so excited.
And yes, the visit will be the highlight of November for me. I can't think of anything else that would top it. It's like a Harry Potter fan getting to hang out with J.K. Rowling for the day.
*big cuddles* Thanks, I hope I get better soon, too. Staying off my feet sucks more than I thought it would.
I'll have to go thru those pictures again myself. {Smile}
Fortunately, the Foglios haven't reached Rowling's level of fame. I think she's at the point where she couldn't get as friendly with her fans as they do with theirs. {SMILE}
{smile, SQUEEZE BACK, BIG SQUEEZE} When I've had to stay off my feet for an extended period, it's gotten pretty boring. It really limits what I can do. {rueful smile}
You still hurt after the cortisone shot? My mom got that a month before knee surgery-- just the basic roto-rooter, but still-- and it worked great for about three weeks. (For pain threashold: this woman walked about 14 miles with a shattered collar bone, for pride's sake.)
If it didn't have ANY notable effect...wow....that sounds pretty bad....
Yeah, weird, right? The doctor said that if it doesn't get any better in the near future he's going to recommend an MRI so they can get a look at the soft tissue of my foot.
I thought the cortisone helped for like a day, and then the pain came back. Really weird. It's not immense pain or anything. Usually it's just a discomfort, but that's because I don't let it get worse than that. As soon as I start to feel it I sit down to rest and it goes away. If I don't let myself rest, however, the pain can get pretty nasty.
So yeah, I hope it gets better soon, too. One upside, though, I'll have to rent a wheelchair when I hang out with the Foglios (actually, Kaja insisted that they pay for the rental, ^_^; GAH, I love these people) and most rides have a special wheelchair access through the exit. No lines!
