Yup yup...My uncle has diabetes, and as a pharmacy student, I've done lots of research on this. I had heard November was national diabetes month, but I had no idea there was a specific date for it also. Regardless, throughout the month of November, CVS pharmacies will be doing free blood glucose readings, so I really hope everyone takes advantage of this. Many people go for years not knowing they have diabetes until it's too late.
I actually didn't know their was a special day either! (month, yes but day, no) It was mentioned in one of the diabetic communities I'm in. That's awesome! because Most diabetics find out they're diabetic because they get ketoacidosis and are hospitalized for a long time. It happened to one of my favorite professors and it was really scary. :( and I've heard of a lot of diabetics (who know they are) that don't even own a meter and it makes me pretty sad for them. You can get them for free all over. I have four testers total!
Hey, I'm from SG and I just read your recent post. Did you say you work at a tool store? I really don't want to be the one to bring this up but did you ever have the inkling that you haven't been promoted to Assistant Manager is because you are not a guy? I am genuinely curious and do not have any malicious intent.
Ah, no worries. I'd honestly never considered it until this comment (it's anonymous, so will you even get the reply?). Obviously, it's possible. I had that suspicion with the previous District and Store Manager, but with the new set-up I think it's just slow moving now. I never mentioned it, but the guy I thought they were going to hire? They probably aren't.. and they're hiring two Assist Man's so even if they do hire outside the company, I still have a chance. I know my immediate boss doesn't look at me like that... but it's definitely something I'll keep an eye out for.
