I think EVERYONE would enjoy Lost Girl if they knew about it. :D
I would follow Emily Deschanel to the ends of the earth. Okay, not really, but I am considering watching Rose Red just because she's in it. I don't really care for Stephen King's stuff, but I may have to overlook that. And yes, Archie Panjabi. Yum. Perhaps it's time for a Bend It Like Beckham rewatch...
About Friday Night Lights, I tried realllllllly hard to like it and just couldn't. All the characters annoyed the everloving hell out of me. But I think you should still give it a shot, because everyone else seems to adore it! Maybe I'm just weird.
Lost Girl is a show that I love to death, but the quality is so spotty I just can't bring myself to insist to my friends that 'OMG, YOU MUST WATCH THIS SHOW." I'm hoping that once it hits SyFy (syphilis:-) people will just kind of start watching it regardless and we won't be so alone in our flail.
Emmy D. is such a doll. I hope her next role is epic. It's awful to love her, and kind of dislike Brennan.
Good to know about FNL. I always feel like a giant weirdo when I watch a show that everyone's FREAKING OUT over, and it registers only as meh to me. I'm like, "am I not bright enough to see the amazingness?" But pretty sure that EVERYONE has a few of those, so we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves.:)
Maybe you could just have them watch the episodes without a lot of Dyson. :P

I knoooooooow, me too. lizook12 gave me glowing reviews on FNL (I don't even remember why it came up, but it did), and I watched a few episodes and was all, "uh, sorry...I can't get into it but I TRIED!" But eh, some people don't like TGW so it all evens out. ;)
• What is your favourite episode of your favourite series? Nine Hours, The Good Wife
Nine Hours, really? That surprises me. I flove the Alicia/Kalinda interaction, of course, but otherwise I find it a pretty unremarkable up. (Secretly I'm judging you!)
I have to confess I enjoyed 'Killer Song'--the perp was UBER creepy and I absolutely adored how protective/hovering Kalinda was. 'Getting Off' was painful on a number of levels, but I thought it was a great illustration of just how much Kalinda loves Alicia.
Hahaha. Well, this was my reaction to Nine Hours... and keep in mind, up until then I was a Willicia shipper, so I enjoyed it on that level, but it also was the GENESIS of my Kalicia ship beyond "it would be kind of hot if they fooled around." So to find myself caring so strongly about all these different relationships and being excited about all the possibilities -- it was special, and that's why I feel sentimental about the epi. I have a memory of watching it and tweeting afterward, "I'm in love." :)
Getting Off WAS the ultimate "KALINDA IS IN TRAGIC LOVE" episode though, holy crap. You think of that, and it doesn't even compute how K/A haven't had scenes together this season.
Did you see the sneak peeks for tonight? I feel like I SHOULD have been flailing over them, but just felt frustrated in different ways. I think I'm getting aaaantsy.:(
Tonight...I feel like I should have liked it more than I did, but I just found myself pretty bored. Next week looks to be better--shit will ACTUALLY START HAPPENING.
Oh, I HOPE shit starts happening. BRING ON THE SHIT.
The K/C stuff about half makes sense to me, but that doesn't mean I still don't get a little pukey at it. And I thought Kalinda/Dana had decent chemistry, but even that annoyed me a little because I felt as if it was the exact same dynamic she had with Lana and Sophia, so it was like, "HAVE SEEN IT BEFORE." God, I'm impossible to please nowadays.
On the bright side, if anyone every gives me crap about the lack of realism in shipping A/K, I'm pulling out Cary's line about how people being a lot of things until they meet Kalinda.:)
First of all, what is this productivity of which you speak?
Secondly, I am stealing your meme later.
I have to say though, I suspect there are actors/actresses I would avoid. There are some I don't like. I feel it's more a movie thing than TV though...
And Once Upon a Time is fun to flail over (although it's okay if you don't). Lots of awesome female characters on it, which pleases me.
I'm TRYING to remember what productivity is, but it's not going so well.
I'm feeling like there are probably actors/actresses I don't like all that much, but nothing occurred to me as I was filling this out... Rachael Ray grates the EFF out of me, but I don't count her as a legit actress.:)
Once Upon a Time -- I like it! I wouldn't keep watching it if I didn't. For some reason, it just fails to activate my flail-trigger -- I'm not sure why. It passes Bechdel for now, so it's not that. I'd say maybe it's because I don't have a real ship for it, or because fantasy isn't my usual preferred genre, but a few other shows have got me obsessed despite those things. I guess there's just some unexplained, magic interaction/chemistry between fangirl and show that leads to flail, that can't necessarily be predicted or forced!
I've never watched The Good Wife before, except for the really beautiful elevator scene from last season's finale. I thought it was one of the most romantic things I've ever seen on T.V. TGW is one of those shows I wish I were watching, but probably never will.
Awhs, I hope you get a chance to watch someday! There are a lot of shows I watch that I love, but precious few I recommend unreservedly -- and this is one of those few. You can always count on it to be smart and well-acted, and the characters are amazingly complex. It's just refreshing, with all the crap on tv now (and God knows, I WATCH plenty of that crap), to have something you can depend upon week after week to be worth your time.
Nine Hours, A+++++! Seriously one of the best television hours ever. Friday Night Lights is on my to-watch list also, which is weird because it really does not sound like my kind of show. But so many people who share my taste in tv just adore it so it must be worth a shot?
Nine Hours was MAGIC. Did you watch last night's epi? I kept saying it was a poor man's Nine Hours, what with the death row ticking time bomb.:) Needed moar Will being super-intense and rawr, and A/K drinking beer on beds.
Actually, ALL my shows are on Sundays, but I can only watch one at a time so Monday become a huge tv catch-up day! It's kind of crazy.
I did! And made that exact same comparison, lol. They even had the estranged family coming in at the last second to watch through bars as the dude walked to his death! At least they did something different with it, as depressing as it was :(
And okay, every episode needs more A/K drinking in bed. I MISS THEM SO MUCH. I need desperately for them to have some kind of meaningful interaction soon, the show isn't the same without them :(
Haha, yes, I'm glad they had a new take on it, or else it would just feel like "well, guess it's the death row time of the year!"
And okay, every episode needs more A/K drinking in bed. I MISS THEM SO MUCH.
Gah, right? It's like even the pretty good episodes have a big, gaping hole in them. TALK, GIRLS. SCREAM, FIGHT, CRY, do whatever you need to do, but this show neeeeeds you. :( :(
