Totally agree - they've done a great job with Will's exit.

I've been a critic of the firms splitting and whether that "refreshed storytelling" actually led to much in the way of good episodes. But they've definitely delivered in spades with Will's actual departure and I can admire the groundwork of setting it up now that I know what they were working towards.

I'm not sure I really responded to this episode as the writers intended, because if I was supposed to be cut up and weepy, well no -- that didn't happen ( ... )

If he hadn't been being SUCH A DOUCHE during this whole Will death time, I MIGHT have felt a little sorry for Peter. But no. I only felt sorry for Zach and Grace cause they were so worried, but they handled it really well!

And yes she is a selfish bitch at times, but I don't think he has the right to say it. *shrugs*

Ah... I kinda think that yes Kalinda decided to fuck the pain away, but then realised Cary is not the one to do it with since he does matter too. And why not Jenna, she could kill two birds with one stone. And unfortunately for Jenna, Damian is more of a problem than Kalinda enjoying your company.

And OMG the photo of Kalinda and Will (surprisingly it looked a tad photoshopped, not that it should cause they don't need to, but whatever, it was cute either way) How was there not a pic of Diane and Will celebrating a win though?

Haha, although I was a bit scared of having Matthew Goode, my fears were chased away by his good Heck side showing!

I sure hope this culminates in Kalicia cause they are both wallowing.

I think yes she went to Cary for distraction. But she started wigging when she took off his belt, then she had the flashbacks of Will, then we saw a shot of Cary where he resembled Jeffrey Grant. I think trauma stopped her, not that Cary means to much to her to use ( ... )

I actually do feel just a tad of sympathy for Peter, despite his impressive try-out for Dick of the Year in that scene. I mean, Alicia has been giving him a lot of reasons to hope they'd get their marriage back. The sex, the re-marriage agreement, the "I love you's" -- dude felt like he was on the path to redemption, if not quite there yet. So her implication that the marriage was obviously always for show (at least since the scandal) and that the only reason to remain in it is its "usefulness," and basically that this has all been fakey-mcfakersons all along has to sting. I can't feel TOO bad for him because, yanno, you reap what you sow, but still, way to aim for the heart, Lish.

Here's my one hilarious thought of the day--we're actually the LAST SHIP STANDING, properly understood. Willicia is dead by virtue of actual Death, and there's no way that Peter and Alicia are ever coming back from that fight. Alicia and Kalinda are still alive and still ostensibly friends, even though we suspect what we suspect about JM and AP. There's no Alicia/Finn ship right now, even though there probably will be one in the future. So, we win! Um . . . yay?? :-)

My hilarious (not) thought of the day is that the WHOLE REASON none of Will's funeral was on-screen was because that would require AP and JM to shoot together.

I thought that too. It was a clever work-around to have the drunken widow scene. Also, a long maudlin funeral scene wouldn't have been nearly so fun. As with other things that have rung true for me in the aftermath of Will's demise -- I've been to a few funerals that seemed to not be about the person I knew...

It would have been very natural for Kalinda to have been invited to have a drink with both of them after the funeral, and she probably would have said yes. I didn't really LIKE the Alicia/Diane scene, even though of course it was designed to be charming--I agree with your point above that the whole setup seems like something that JM specifically requested. All I thought about during the scene was how much more I used to like it when Alicia got tipsy with Kalinda; tipsy with Diane is just a poor substitute for that, even though it shouldn't be. *Sigh*.

Here's a laugh of the day for you all--some poster in the comments on the EW recap of the episode didn't understand Kalinda's stress trauma reactions during sex and thought instead that they were showing her having "sparkly orgasms." Hah! :-)

I've said it before... at times one would despair if one were a TV writer.

That said --- BWAH!

It's a reasonable mistake. During all my very best sparkly orgasms, I ALWAYS imagine blood splattering, cry, and run away. Amirite, ladies?

I don't have anything to add, but I'm laughing hard for the second time today.
