Was it you who mentioned something about how Adam said in an interview that Ben and Leslie are both so bad at dating stuff that if they did go out on a date it would probably be an accident, and that the Fancy Party might be that accidental date? Because I LOVE THAT IDEA SO VERY MUCH!!! Especially if everyone else at the party acts like they're on a date, but they're the only two there who never realize it. I could actually see that happening, though maybe more from Leslie's side than Ben's. He might not have game, but he already like likes Leslie, so I think he'd pick up on any date-like atmosphere eventually.
Yes, that was in an interview with Adam from Paley. And I would not be surprised if this is the episode where that happens. It's an outside work thing (that is not actually outside), if it really is "fancy" they're going to be slightly gussied up. I HAVE HIGH HOPES (that will probably be crushed)
But omg career advice! My brain is going crazy at the thought.
I know! That underlying subtext of Ben asking Leslie for help is great, him wanting her to at least help him stay if she can't or won't askhim to. I think Ben's totally clueless how Leslie regards him (and so are we at this point), so maybe that's all he's hoping for right now.
And I'm seriously confused about what his Pawnee career could be? Chris is already City Manager. I have no clue how local government works, so I don't know the options. I wish he could actually work IN the Parks Dept. though. I mean, he was still there all the time even though he didn't work in the department, so I guess it doesn't really matter. But I'd like to continue the trend of him and Leslie being true partners.
Oh! Idea! What if he's her campaign manager or something in an upcoming election? I think I remember something about Leslie running for something. (Wow, look how descriptive that last sentence was, lol. I need sleep.)
I'm actually excited because at this point I don't know too many spoilers for the show going forward. I kind of knew evertything that was going to happen with Andy/April in each episode before I saw it. :/ My goal is to stay away from spoilers... can I do it? I'm actually not that confident that I can. Ha!
I'm wondering if soul mates will be about Ben/Leslie and Andy/April. I think an actual Ben/Leslie kiss won't happen until the finale.
