Those pictures are so cute! :D Thank you for introducing me to him, he seems so awesome and sweet ^_^
I just hate how badly disabled people were treated before. Nowadays it would be unthinkable to call them "freaks" and put them in zoos :c But anyway, Schlitzie is still very adorable and he seems to be very happy and social :3

Aww, I'm glad you like the pictures. I agree, it was terrible the way they once treated disabled people, though Schlitzie mostly had a happy life - the only time he was depressed was when he was briefly placed in a mental hospital in his old age, he hated that. He was mostly very loving and sweet - apparently he had a massive crush on Tod Browning who directed the Freaks movie!

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that :c I have been in a mental hospital too and it was mostly okay and I got better, but I can imagine how bad the mental hospitals were in those times, pretty much like in one of the Ramones music video, I think it was "Gimme Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment" where they depict a typical mental hospital.

Luckily Schlitzie was able to get out and perform again. That was what made him happiest.
