I am taking German this semester and it's great! I love the language, though it is quite difficult. If you have a good professor, it shouldn't be too bad! :)

Unfortunately i am in the same boat as you... all summer I was trying to get a job but they wanted experience. How am I supposed to get experience if I can't get a first job?! I stopped looking one I got to college because I need to "adjust" to college life before taking on a job. I am planning on trying to find one for this summer though. I need it! Good luck finding one. =)

Haha, is it really good? I was hoping it was, cause I'm excited and nervous about it at the same time. After taking the same language for 6 years, I forget what it's like to start a new language.

Heh, yup that's the worst part. If you have no experience, how can you get it when no on hires you?
Thanks! :)

If there's a Wal-Mart or Fred Meyer near where you are, up here they're really supportive of entry level AND college schedules, so if you haven't tried them yet I'd give them a shot. Was talking with our cashier a few weeks ago when my daughter called to tell me she'd gotten an interview at Wally and he said he'd been working at Fred's for five years. Started in high school and they were working around his class schedule, and he really liked it there. Ems loves loves loves the people she works with - they make retail worth it, even with the cranky rude customers who drop things on the floor and leave their trash in the parking lot because they don't want to pay duty on stuff.

Yay for figuring out what you want to do and where you want to go to do it! How far away are you moving?

Oh thanks! I'll need to give Wal-Mart another try. They're one of those places that have an hour long application, so I probably did it wrong out of frustration.

Thank you! It's not that far away. Only an hour. But it's either that or on the opposite side of the country, so I love having it be so close.

Thank you so much for your thoughts on this. Getting a job has been a struggle, especially with the economy being the way it is now. Unfortunately, the closest mall to me is a half hour away, and it I got a job there, my paycheck would be used in gas. However, I am looking into local nursing homes to get a possible job, even for temporary. Like you said, I need more experience, otherwise no one will hire, because that's how it is for so many people. :(

Thank you for your words of encouragement! <3

Over here we have this thing where if you're unemployed for so long and trying to get work they have this place that will put you on a 6-month workplacement (which is what I'm on atm) - do they not have anything like that for you guys?
It's ridiculous tryna get jobs, all the ones I went for did the "experience" thing - how can we get said experience if nobody hires? *rolls eyes*

Wow, you guys have that? God, if we had something like that, things would be so much easier. No, we're just getting lower and lower when it comes to unemployment. I guess I should be happy I'm not a mother who's trying to provide for her family while having no job, but I still can't help but be pissed I don't have one, you know? lol.

Oh, I fully understand that feeling *hugs*

Yeah, we have that, but at the end of your time you're just thrown back in the pile so it's kind of pointless o_O

Ooooh, that's sucks too. :(
Though at least it gives you experience...?
I'm just really tired of there being less jobs available because this is when we need money the most and...I can't get any. >:(
