It's been a while since I discussed being vegan, or even took a good hard look at what that even means to me. My attitude on the subject tends to vary, but my beliefs don't ( Read more... )

Only if it's the salad I made this weekend. Ask Chris and Kev.

I'm kind of annoyed that our society takes such an elitest stance on issues like that (the "image of bitches who are size six and smaller"); I mean, here in the western hemisphere, our agricultural infrastructure is sufficient to allow us to vector our food intake according to our own personal beliefs. Not everywhere on the planet has that luxury, so the people who take advantage of it should be commended.

It's too bad about the crab legs, though. Ah well :)

One of the reasons I stood vegans is because I'm very aware of the fact that not every place on this planet has the choices that are afforded to us in North America. I forgot to throw in the fact that most vegans are upper middle class... and I am so not. I'd better go correct that.

While there are seafood substitutes, I've never been one for seafood except for crab legs. I'm not dying without 'em though. :)

I like your vegan lists!

The weight thing is interesting. I've actually put on weight since I became vegan. My metabolism increased, so I started eating more, but then I started eating even more because I was discovering so many great new foods. Oops!

I don't miss crab - I was allergic to it. I've tried not-crab, but the smell kind of turns my stomach because it's too close to real crab smells. And I don't like salad very much either - most salads are so average and boring. And I hate iceburg lettuce. Ugh. But I like pumpkin in salads.

I probably would gain more weight if I didn't exercise. When I was exercising I put on quite a bit of muscle and I think that right now that's my only saving grace.

I wasn't allergic to it, and I have no idea what about it I miss to be honest. All I know is that for some reason, I link eating it to happy times. That sounds almost psycho but whatever.
I HATE LETTUCE AND RAW TOMATOES. UGH. But I love baby spinach salad, this one in particular.

That salad looks good! I'll have to try it. I've never thought of putting raspberries in a salad... mmm.

I also hate people who make menu choices for you "oh, you can eat this!" or questoin what you are eating "does that have eggs...." Or the ones that try to convine you that what you are eating isn't vegan.

HAHA!! I forgot about that too! It doesn't happen as often to me but when it does it is pretty annoying. I'll admit though there will be times I order something without a second thought because it's vegan elsewhere, and someone will remind me to double check, but that's different.
When I actually cook or bake something and someone asks me if it's vegan while I'm eating it... well that's just fucking stupid.

Welp I definitely like my veggies. Its Cavina's fault for that one. I'm glad to see this has helped you so much Raeness. Fuck Veganazis and what I refer to as Fake-Vegans. Yeah the pricks who say they're Vegan and yet all they eat is potatoes and rice because they don't like veggies. WTF IS THAT!?

I always prefered vegetables before I went vegan, but there were very few I actually liked. When I went vegetarian and started trying new things and learning how to cook different meals, that changed obviously.

Oh fake vegans lol, don't even get me started. I know a few of those... they're the ones that stop being vegan after a week or so because there's "nothing to eat." I hate those morons, too.
