I feel like this journal, in some ways, is older than me.  Like it bothered to have a childhood, and a life, and friends.  Like it had something established, maybe not something very stable-- but that's never all that appealing anyway

hi babe. i love you & rad this. and you are such an incredible writer, with so much depth and clarity and thoughtfulness. as much as this is a hard hard time for you, i'm really glad to be able to read your thoughts about it. we could be good pen pals i think if we were more disciplined with stamps.

do you like reading? i can recommend some good creative nonfiction to read that might help you figure out your own nonfiction voice if you want. joan didion "the white album" (there is a book of essays called the white album, and in it an essay called the white album), or the year of magical thinking (memoir), or annie dillard (essay: total eclipse, or anything of hers), kass fleisher "accidental species"... i'll think of more.
