I knew you'd be the only one who would get it.

The funny part is that I never saw those dirty gopher pictures, I only knew of them by reputation. They certainly made an impression on Wendy.

I must admit, I'm not terribly excited about HP movie 6. HP book 6 was probably my least favorite. Still, I will be seeing it soon with the Mrs. I'm sure. The previews looked good!

Mars next or the moon again?

Half-Blood Prince is primarily concerned with relationships, and as a result, this movie is probably the funniest of all of them.

"Get your ass to Mars!"

I really enjoyed Jim Broadbent - he's such an amusing actor; and while I was one who disliked the streamlining of the film (I found the majority of it a bore) I will wholeheartedly agree with the casting of Michael Gambon. I adored Richard Harris and was initially skeptical of Gambon in that role, but he brings such a higher level of alertness and activity to the character I think it lines up well with the books.

Well, the book itself is primarily concerned with relationships, and so the film is. There is the scene at the Burrow in the middle that just feels like a studio-imposed action sequence, but other than that I think it is a decent adaptation of the book (if it's boring, it's at least accurately so).

Richard Harris was, unfortunately, way too old to be playing in anything once Harry Potter rolled around; in Chamber of Secrets he looks like he is about to topple over at any moment. He nailed the "grandfatherly" aspect of Dumbledore, but not the impish sense of humor, which is what Gambon does so well.

For more sweet Gambon action, might I suggest The Singing Detective? It's wierd, but Gambon really is great in it.
