I take the opposite tack: anything other than "Make My Day" sounds needlessly pretentious to me, like trying to grasp deliberately for something "artistic". This is Dirty Harry we're talking about, it was a cartoon from the start.

Perhaps, but the whole "punk" angle Saadia brought up is salient, so I'm going with something a little more obscure. As far as how cartoony the whole thing is, well, just look at that picture. Sometimes a 44. Magnum is only a 44. Magnum my ass…

I too grew up watching Blake 7 on PBS. And I agree, when watching old Sci-Fi like that (Dr. Who, Battlestar Galactica) from the 70's and early 80's TV you have to forgive the cheesyness and remember how expensive special effects were and how low the budgets were for the episodes and concentrate on the storyline.
