Oooh, a mystery, AND a scary story! I felt chills as the log entries changed. Perfect pacing & suspense there.
And the Renhorim! What a marvelous invention. I'm so proud of Sirius for being the wizard he is, despite Remus gently chiding him; this line: "shifting to animal form before his own very human soul could be damaged," made it all stand out stark & clear.

And this line: "and it was Sirius, eyes bright, panting and too close." - quite hot in its own way. Mmm.

This was so much fun, having those two on a ship. I'd read your pirate/ship stories any day.
