This has become just like this summer. I'm lonely and crave human interaction. Man, even saying "thank you" to the chick swiping my student ID to pay for my lunch gives me a sudden rush. Honestly, we are so much alike. I've dealt with the exact same friendship issues; I was desperate for university; and now that I'm here, I've really yet to find a group of fellow intellectuals of any sort, let alone those who share my interests. And of course, the anti-socialite that I am, I usually prefer just sitting and working and thinking and daydreaming and pursuing other purely mental rubbish in my dorm rather than actually straining to be at least quasi-sociable. Ah, well. I'm a self-professed hermit. Always have been, always will be.

All I can say is, I suppose, is hang in there! And as cliche as it sounds, you're not alone! We exist -- we're just few and far between, sadly.

Haha, I've been the same way. Hey, let's make a point of chatting it up then? Being hermity together, yeah? Why don't you log onto IM or something... That would be grand. Then we can stew in our lonesome thoughts together. :P

Definitely -- if some free time arises, I'll log in and hopefully we'll have an opportunity to catch up. It's been a while, I know! Guh. Adulthood in this context is quite, well, oppressive.

I'm a lot like that, too. I still haven't made any "real" friends in college, but for now, my online friends really are all I need. I'm a very solitary person in real life. I have people I can say hi to, go to meals with, and talk to in the building, and that's good enough for me.

That's a great quote though, I agree. :)

Hmm...I guess it's just a matter of getting what you want out of life. *shrugs* I still think that everyone's searching for those to truly KNOW them. I guess I'm being selfish and wanting that immediately.

I'm still hoping to find that, but I'm a bit more patient now (I guess). Hopefully it will happen for both of us soon.
