Oof. Irony hammer, indeed. I like the little references to Basch not being from Dalmasca, and the implied interactions between Basch and Ashe, Basch and Balthier, and Ashe and Balthier. Fabulous.

Vossler/Irony Hammer OTP, baby! I'm glad you liked the little things; I had a lot of fun with them, especially the interactions we see so little of in-game.

I love the details of sunburn and armor-heat.

*glee* Cygna Productions: introducing real-life annoyance to video-game-land since...last week! (Also, if Basch got to be as pale as he was and not get sunburned, I would have had to hate him. *nature's lobster*)

As said above, the real-life details of the terrain/weather on the party are very welcome. I've been wondering myself about the logistics of crossing the Sandsea, purportedly a distance broader than all of Dalmasca-- weeks, at least, and no one appears to be dressed very appropriately.

I also like the contrast of Vossler and Balthier's reception of Basch, even if subjectively coloured by Vossler's own guilt/jealousy-- and that in Vossler's eyes, they are Ashe, Basch and Vossler, unfortunately accompanied by a sky pirate and some children.

And setting aside what he wants, for later-- that's Vossler, all too accurately.
