This weekend I found out that someone in Comp Lit who got a quarter of fellowship support last year wrote TWO WHOLE CHAPTERS of his dissertation in ten weeks. i will say this

just because he finished fast doesn't mean his diss. was good

as I have spent three weeks on as many pages. Where did last semester go?

sharpen your pencils, lock your door, brew some espresso, grab some shears and cut your internet cable, muzzle the cat, block the mail slot, stuff your seat cushion with uncomfortable pebbles, hang your room with harsh florescent lights, stock up on microwavable entrees, drop your cell phone in the goldfish bowl, and start...playing Dr. Mario? No! Aiiieeee!

Dissertations are overrated and hard to finish.

Sunflowers are prettier and worth more in the short run.
