Boy are you right that they view it as more than a job. It's a life-mission, an end-all, a self-sacrificial devotion to young minds. I think that infiltrated us, despite any resistance we might initially have had. But it does make us good teachers. Or at least a lot better than most we've had.

Sorry you're still feeling sick. Hope you recover soon. Last night I was feeling pretty toasty, and I worried I had caught it from you, but this morning I felt okay, so hopefully no.
