I liked the Florida Panthers before the Leafs went on their three year playoff drought (four including the lockout). But yeah, after years of spending no word of a lie thousands of dollars on Leafs merchandise I came to the rude awakening that I was just pissing money away to a giant greedy corporate franchise that doesn't give a shit about the fans.
Besides, I want to give my heart to a team that'll win the cup before I die which hopefully wont be for atleast the next fifty years.
The Leafs have lost me maybe forever as a fan, and I say that like it's etched in stone. Even if the Leafs made it to the final round of the playoffs this season I'd enjoy all the action and USE them for any local excitement they might create, I'll riot downtown just like everyone else, but I have absolutely no emotional vestment in them. I don't care if don't end up watching more than ten of their games this season which was about the case last year.
Well, I used to be a Rangers fan, but barely a fan. I'm a Leaf fan for life. Also, they got rid of McApe, Tucker, Razor who were on my list of players to lose. I'm down with Cliff, he's doing an awesome job. Just ain't too sure about Mayers, Hollweg signings, but we'll see. Hagman was an okay signing, CuJo, guess not too bad.
