Loved how you conveyed how long Gwen and Elyan had been at the inn by the number of meals they'd had there - very creative. Also, my heart broke when reading Arthur reminising about that brief time him and Guinevere had after the engagement. Sigh - just beautiful.
Thank you for writing this story. If the show explores even a smidgen of what you've shown here, I will be pleased.
I look forward to Part Two. I hope you will post it soon.

It will be interesting to see how close to the actual ep you come with your vision of things. I don't know if I'm ready for the drama ahead but I'll try not to be too *whimpy*

Gyah, I don't think most of us are, tbh. We're excited, but at the same time ... dark times ahead. =(

I have planned a second part, although I have yet to write it out and I'm not sure there will be time before ep 11 renders it superfluous. But I'll do my best!

Aw, Lhara, I think that's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said about my writing. *smishes* Thank you so much! And yeah, it was really important to me not to sugarcoat them because that's exactly what the show did in 4x05, and it drove me nuts (as much as I adore that final scene on its own). The idea of sugarcoating Gwen's banishment and the trust issues (as well as others) that would logically result for both of them is an unwelcome one.
I feel like you've really improved your style than when you first started - it flows better and you have a mixture of techniques: parentheses, sentences that trail off for dramatic effect and flashbacks etc.
♥ ♥ ♥ I was actually nervous that it was too stylistic, so thank you! And gyah, I'm so happy that you've seen ( ... )

The conversation that Arthur remembers is something I would KILL to see on the show. It was perfectly pitched, a nice way to interweave court expectations and what Gwen herself brings to Arthur's table. Lovely, and wholesome, and everything that's missing from the portrayal of A/G this series.
And Gwen and Elyan! These kids, I'm glad Elyan is simultaneously accepting of her hesitation and a little bit prodding at it.
And Merlin, good lad. I like that Gwen eventually wrote to him. Bestieeees.
I am hoping very dearly that the episode and its aftermath will hold some shred of the responsibility and depth of this. Thanks so much for such a great read, ladyloo ♥
