This is brillant! The pain, the heartbreak, urgh. I can feel it so strongly from Arthur and Gwen. You have written them very much in character with what we've seen on the show.

Loved how you conveyed how long Gwen and Elyan had been at the inn by the number of meals they'd had there - very creative. Also, my heart broke when reading Arthur reminising about that brief time him and Guinevere had after the engagement. Sigh - just beautiful.

Thank you for writing this story. If the show explores even a smidgen of what you've shown here, I will be pleased.

I look forward to Part Two. I hope you will post it soon.

Thank you so much!! <3 I cannot promise that there will be a part two, although it's pretty much written out in my head already (I just have to do the gruesome task of transferring it to paper!). It all depends on whether manage to keep on schedule with the papers I have to write. ;-)

Thanks again!

Very sad and angsty.

It will be interesting to see how close to the actual ep you come with your vision of things. I don't know if I'm ready for the drama ahead but I'll try not to be too *whimpy*

Thank you so much! Although I doubt I came anywhere CLOSE to how it'll actually go down based on the most recent review. XD

Gyah, I don't think most of us are, tbh. We're excited, but at the same time ... dark times ahead. =(

Awesome! So much angst, but in a bittersweet way, which is probably what's waiting for us arwen fans on Saturday when hottie Lancelot emerges! The wait is really killing me! Any way, loved the fic - I hope there will be more chapters..?

Aw, thank you! I certainly hope it'll end up being more bittersweet than tragic -- I've been spoiled by their happy nature since 3x06, and I'm not sure I know how to deal with tragedy!

I have planned a second part, although I have yet to write it out and I'm not sure there will be time before ep 11 renders it superfluous. But I'll do my best!

You know, I've pretty much given up reading A/G fics because I never find the same enjoyment in them as I used to, but Jen I really enjoyed this fic - and it's the first A/G fic I've truly enjoyed (and ok, read) in a while. I loved, loved the angst (but when don't I ( ... )

LOL, want to know something kind of hilarious? I was originally going to ask if you had time to give this a look over, but then I remembered that you prefer to avoid spoilers and decided to post it unbeta'd. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN I SAW A REVIEW FROM YOU. This is very exciting! =D

Aw, Lhara, I think that's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said about my writing. *smishes* Thank you so much! And yeah, it was really important to me not to sugarcoat them because that's exactly what the show did in 4x05, and it drove me nuts (as much as I adore that final scene on its own). The idea of sugarcoating Gwen's banishment and the trust issues (as well as others) that would logically result for both of them is an unwelcome one.

I feel like you've really improved your style than when you first started - it flows better and you have a mixture of techniques: parentheses, sentences that trail off for dramatic effect and flashbacks etc.

♥ ♥ ♥ I was actually nervous that it was too stylistic, so thank you! And gyah, I'm so happy that you've seen ( ... )

Ahhh, bless Gwen. I'd be willing to accept a banishment if it's done much like this; with Gwen not accepting it as ~fair punishment~ so much as it being the breaking point for her ~faith.

The conversation that Arthur remembers is something I would KILL to see on the show. It was perfectly pitched, a nice way to interweave court expectations and what Gwen herself brings to Arthur's table. Lovely, and wholesome, and everything that's missing from the portrayal of A/G this series.

And Gwen and Elyan! These kids, I'm glad Elyan is simultaneously accepting of her hesitation and a little bit prodding at it.

And Merlin, good lad. I like that Gwen eventually wrote to him. Bestieeees.

I am hoping very dearly that the episode and its aftermath will hold some shred of the responsibility and depth of this. Thanks so much for such a great read, ladyloo ♥

Thank you so much, K! I'm glad you liked the Gwen & Elyan bits -- their relationship is really hard to pin down since we've seen so little of it. D= (Fingers crossed that this complaint will soon become a thing of the past.) And gyah, besties indeed! My only regret with this fic is that I wasn't able to fit in a conversation between Merlin and Gwen prior to her departure (I had one originally, but for some reason it was giving me trouble and I had to cut it =\). Favorites forever. <3 <3 <3

Thanks again! ♥ Two hours to go. =O
