Dru was staring at the pages of her book and doing her best not to think about the fact that she no longer had a family to celebrate the holidays with. Kennedy was still trying to get everything wrapped (she was terrible at this, and the downside to online shopping was not always being able to pay someone else to do it for her) and squared away before she headed to Bon Temps tomorrow, but she happened to have some gifts for Dru and wasn't not going to check in.

"Yo, little sis," she greeted from the doorway.

"Kennedy, hey," Dru said, setting aside her book and trying not to seem pathetically grateful for the distraction. "What's up?"

"Things. You know," Kennedy replied, edging into the room. "Like the things sitting around my room that had better places to be. For example?"

She hefted a messily-wrapped rectangular package out of the bag in her hand and held it out to Dru.

"Merry Christmas."

"You shouldn't have." Not that that stopped Dru from quickly opening the gift.

"Oh wow," she breathed, immediately unsheathing the knife and running a careful finger along the edge. "This is beautiful. Thank you."
