They are doing their best... Poor violets... II cut some in order to dry them in a book... In the house, they smelled soooo goood. Outside... don't ask.
Hem.... Yesterday we had snow... just falling snow, not on the ground, but snow + 2°C... didn't feel like Spring. Today... rain and heat. Yes, heat. About ... 9°C...
This morning in Pompeii it was T-shirt weather. When we went to Vesuvius in the afternoon the cloud had descended and we couldn't see two metres in front of us (never mind the caldera or the Bay of Naples!) Pompeii and Herculaneum were INCREDIBLE! The House of Mysteries had the most beautiful frescoes. We totally missed the brothel and the theatres (both of them) so we've decided we'll just have to come back to Naples for another visit so we can see the bits we missed the first time :-) Your suggestion to wear tennis shoes was an absolute life-saver. I'm sure I'd have turned an ankle if I'd worn my regular heeled boots, so thank you for that, and for all your other hints and tips. :-)
I'll post pics of Vesuvius... I knew you'd love Pompeii and Herculanum. It's magic... Yo might like Arria Marcella, by Theophile Gautier. It's a short novel which takes place in Pompeii... No heels in Pompeii...
They're stubborn small flowers... Atleast some day (soon, I hope) we'll have all flowers at the same time: daffodils, tulips hyacinths, forsythia, japonica...
Your spring is definitely better than mine… Here there is still a lot of snow around. Snow, snow, snow… I got so tired of this endless winter. White infinity…
