Bijou arrived - a little while ago...

Just before the insanity of Christmas, little Bijou arrived from Leeke.
She is so SWEET!!!! Followup post shortly with some better shots of the girl herself...

But here's the arrival!

As you can see, she was inspected by Quarantine because something was identified within the box that required further investigation.

Aww, she's super cute! Damn about quarantine! Ekeek! O_O

I would have wanted shoes, too. :(

Thanks :-) I'm very attached to her. Usual teething problems - making eyes look in the right direction, etc. - but now I love her to bits!

Was very annoyed about the lack of shoes, but there was an Australian group order that just closed and so I accidentally managed to order a pair...

Aww, so cute, congratulations! I always get anxious when quarantine check my packages, the other week they just scratched the cover of a lovely hardback book I bought my husband for xmas. x.x

Thanks Mon! I think it's only the second time that quarantine have opened one of my parcels and certainly the first time that I had something sliced open.

That is a horrible thing to do to a book, especially a gift :-(

hUh?!? Quarantine?!? I'd believe it if you lived in Hawaii but Australia? Here in the US I've had customs poke around once in a rare while but as long as it's not unsealed food they are not fussy...

And I must agree, she looks a bit creepy w/o eyes. I'd actually hate to try and put some in...I haven't done it yet. It's like putting spark plugs into a car; I'm certain I could do it but I'd also find a couple of ways to muck it up first!! ^_^

Well we are an island after all :-)

The letter said that either the scanning machine or sniffer dogs had picked up something suspicious. So I gather once they sliced open the face cream and tested it, all was well.

I hate doing it. It's one of the reasons it took so long for me to post about her arrival. I just couldn't get the sods to look right. Eventually gave up and got Tonto to do it! Best advice is to put them in and then look at the doll in the mirror - then you get a better idea of how they look :-)

I know I could do it, but why do it when Tonto does it so much better...
