A lot of things have changed in my life lately.

Tonto and I have always had a house filled with hand-me-down furniture and cast offs - which has been great, but always left me wishing for the day that we could actually go to a shop and buy something which we've chosen for ourselves. I think you are right - all this change is most definitely for the better - and a lot of it we have needed for a while. I'm glad you are enjoying the new furniture as much as I am sweetheart. :)

It's lovely to see pics of Alistair on your lovely new LJ too.

Awww, cute kitty!! I married my wife when I lived in my tiny townhouse which was filled with family hand-me-downs. Now that we've moved Denden enjoys going to garage sales and finding bits of furniture she likes. I think her fondest dream would be to go someplace like Ikea and buy ALL MATCHING FURNITURE though!! ^o^

It has been heaps of fun.
I reckon half the fun is getting to just pick things out that you like, instead of what people think you would like.

I know the whole furniture thing. With each new house we have redone one or two rooms of the furniture. We both love real wood items. So we slowly but surely removed all the press board from our lives and replaced it with oak, maple, cherry, etc. I finally got the wife to let me buy leather furniture. She's hooked now.

We just moved our whole house 3000+ miles two years ago after moving it 3000+ miles 5 years earlier. We have too much stuff. We are actively weeding out things. Old clothes, old dishes, some books, things we don't use, etc. We are gradually getting to that freer feeling as well! Hope yours goes well!

Just checked out your new journal style. Its all pink and cocktails. Very nice and easily readable. So many of the journals I look at are just a bad mix of background color and font color and you can't read anything. Hope you have loads of fun with it. BTW, I ask Tonto this. I am thinking of being a paid member. Why did you choose to be one?

I've been getting frustrated with the fact that I could only have 6 userpics with the free account. I like having one pic for each of my favourite dolls. I'm afraid that 6 just didn't cut it anymore. Plus now I have access to so many more layouts, and some storage space. I don't really need the storage space, but it's handy. I figured that $19.95US wasn't a huge amount to pay for greater convenience. Besides, I like spending time here, and now I'll be able to do more.

Yeah, I see you have added a whole bunch of user pics. Nice doll shots and I really like the Dr. Who rain ones!

It's largely the extra user pics I am after as well. I just feel really restrained by just 6. My IM for example has 30 or 40 which I rotate through.
