I've definitely made stuff that other people were having difficulty being tactful about, but I can't honestly say I've ever cooked anything I wouldn't even eat! I'm intrigued to know what was in it, and why you think the garlic, specifically, was burnt?
because burnt garlic is rank, and there was something really acrid tasting in it. it had chorizo, onion, garlic, tinned tomatoes, a squirt of tomato puree, dried oregano, salt & pepper, a splash of wine as far as I can remember. it was nothing I haven't made before, but it even smelled awful. (I guess the tinned tomatoes could have been off? I dunno. but I had to have tuna and sweetcorn pasta instead!)
