I'm happy with some work I've done.

actually happy with it. I'm sorry, ladies and gentlemen, the four horsemen will be riding out shortly and it is my fault.
but screw them all, I'll be getting this cast before they arrive, I hope

Yes i have know it was coming, this merely confirms it.

The current countdown is at 17 months and however many days, due to the fact the Double is going to hit 16, at which the universe will implode..

ah, was going to chat to you about that next time I was down....

would you make "oooh" sounds if I told you that I've managed to get my hands on a supplier for limewood boards... 100% historically accurate for scabbard cores.
and its cheaper, lighter, and more flexiable than the hardwood I was using. was wondering if you'd like me to use that for it.

I'm currently plotting an order of the stuff, to see if it'll work.
(and have you seen the scabbard for my own, which was restitched using the proper technique (2 needles at the same time)?

finally got it sort of working at a reasonable rate of knots.

> reasonable rate of knots

I'm concerned that this may be a pun...

But yes, beautiful work, though I am stunned at you not spotting any microscopic imperfections to grumble about. :-)

it may be an unintentional pun, given the "interesting" experience of sewing two linen threads, both about 3 metres long though leather, at the same time.
at least the limewood boards dont have knots in them though.

its something I've been doing a bit, and its almost there now. the next stage is to perfect it when the leather's wet, so I can do *really* close-fitting scabbards.

Given that I am on of the aforementioned equestrians, I can assure you and all your friends that we are not setting forth just because of your increased maturity.

read the small print in your employment contract. Me not complaining that something I've made could'nt be done much better is one of the indicators that you'd better start limbering up....

That's the standard dummy shown to young craftsmen(and women) all over the world to help them accept their insecurities in a way that prevents them giving up too soon.

Properly binding celestial contracts are written in yellow crayon specifically so it's impossible to include such small print.

Infernal contracts, of course, are an entirely different matter. But since they are only binding between devils and mortals, that isn't actually relevent in this context.
