You can definitely read the story on Kishmet too, the Kyle/Fish message board. The chapters posted here have some small, subtle changes from the original posting, so there's that!

I'm always so excited when you post an update! I liked this part a lot. It's good that Kyle isn't afraid, but poor Fish. He still has a long way to go.

So many apologies for the initial posting. I was doing a quick post, since I had guests over here, and it was up for a few hours with this bad coding issue. So I think you read it before I got it fixed.

I like this new development of Kyle coming out to Griswold and reaching out to Griswold's brother. I also like the conflict between Fish and Kyle over Kyle's possibly shady tutoring - it adds more layers to their relationship. And, I especially like how Kyle and Oliver have different kinds of relationships with all kinds of people - now including Kyle's friendship with Leslie, their new intimacy with Griswold, and mentoring Griswold's brother. This chapter had lots of great enjoyable things going on. Even as you inched the plot forward in the last scene you also captured the rhythm of everyday conversations. I'm really looking forward to more.

I really did want to keep Kyle a grey character. I do have this whole backstory (which could be all wrong!) worked out for him that might explain why he's prone to bad decisions and stupid actions. And I wanted to introduce another character through which I could hint at some of Kyle's darker side--enter Leslie. Because I don't think Oliver has a clue about Kyle's past, beyond his coming out and his sister....

I'm so glad you liked this, and you liked what I did with the new characters and the dialogue. Hope you enjoy the next parts!

I have mixed feelings about this story. I am loving it and you are doing a terrific job but we know how it will end and I'm not looking forward to that. Thanks for the update. Wonderful chapter.

i was so nervous throughout the entire chapter. I imagine that was your purpose for this chapter, to create such suspense. my blood pressure went up i'm sure. I really hope griswold turns out to be a good guy and that some trick wont be played upon the boys and us readers by griswold. ya never know...

Yeah, that's a good reaction--nervousness!

Honestly, there's so much internal conflict with Oliver, that you don't have to worry about Griswold too much. Just a head's up :-D
