Why am I trying to write a book? I hate research.

Well....yes and no.....When I can't find what I want and I spend three hours at a computer researching something when I could have been writing........I do hate research......but..... when I find what I'm looking for and I can write with confidence that I will not sound like an idiot to my readers then I'm very happy!

You know me Trish, I get discouraged and lose faith in myself. I need a writer's group....maybe I will start going to one again.

Maybe I should write a book, I love research :-) I'm sure it will be all worth while and you'll be pleased when it's done :-)

Maybe you should.....it's very rewarding to create characters and plot.....I just get bogged down with detail some times....I want it to be right, you know!

I think you've asked a very good question. Why ARE you trying to write a book? Is there something inside you that you want very much to get out and show others? Do you love the writing itself? Is it a way to examine your own soul and bring it to the light?

Writing a book is not easy, and getting it published is even harder. If you have a very good reason for yourself to do the writing, you'll get it done. People who simply want to "be authors" (as opposed to those who want to do the writing) drop by the wayside in droves every day. I hope you've got the passion to continue and give birth to your book!

Ahhhhh! You have put your finger on it! There are characters that have been after me for years to tell their story. I really enjoy the creative process of writing but I get nervous about having everything exactly accurate....I don't want to look like an idiot to my readers! Anyway I do want to write the book, I just need to trust and believe in myself more.

Oh..but a book is something you HAVE to write, not WANT to write! It will turn out....you'll get past tbe boring bits.
