I made a list of short-term goals in order to make the next few years fall into place (assuming, of course, my goals don't change, as they are apt to do ( Read more... )

The universities in Australia seem to like having international students. The one nearest where I live has quite a few international attendees, mainly from Asia.

I've gotten that impression from quite a few schools, though I haven't had a chance to dig too deeply into Australia's universities yet. Hooray!

1. I know! I've just been lazy. :P
2. I've been using Wikimatrix. The big thing is linking the wiki so only members of a given site can edit. This may mean jumping through some hoops and other authorization issues but somehow keeping it secure so neither account gets compromised.

5. I've heard that and have considered it. It's on my list of options.
6. I didn't take any SAT II's, but I'm trying to get the highest score I can on the general. I'm also taking the subject test anyway because someone will want it, and it may bolster my application given my less-than-stellar grades. My last two years were great socially but not so great academically, even though I took just about all the math that the most hardcore graduating seniors had taken by the end of my junior year.
7. :D

2) A quick search turned up some info on how to do it on mediawiki. It basically invovles rewriting the authentication in PHP though.
6) Consider not releaseing the subject tests to universites until you know what the score is. This is made trickier by the fact that you didn't take it last weekend, since it's only offered 2-3 times a year. If they dont' require it and you don't do amazing, it's a mark against you.

You really do have to throw a lot of junk on paper before finding something worth keeping. Thanks.
