I've also been quiet on LJ. If I were to write something more personal or emotional I think I have a better grasp of a) who my LJ friends are and b) how the security model works.

I shied away from commenting on a post of a friend on FB because I'd have had to think about who in my friends would have seen it, or indeed seen the thread on which others were sharing personal views on the subject and whose privacy I also felt sensitive towards. I know there are settings for all this, but I have a lazy streak!

Yeah, LJ definitely feels more targeted and 'private' - I never really say anything on consequence on FB as I just don't know who is reading it despite trying to make sure I've set and re-checked my privacy settings many times, it's more for generally keeping in touch with people and posting things of no consequence!
