Awwwwww you were right! I did Awwww!!

That was so sweet... I love Ally having a crush on Jayne, and Jayne thinkin' on having a daughter of his own... you just KNOW Jayne would be great with kids, gruff at first, but once they got hold of him, yeah, he'd be wrapped around their fingers just like this...

great stuff!!

I want a bed with a goldfish bowl headboard!

If I pout enough do you think I'll get one?... or does that only work for 5 year olds?

This was really cute!

Hehe. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Mal will only really make one for his little girl. I can picture Kaylee pouting and asking for one as well. Ha.

And the fishy in the bowl is way more happy than the actual sushi.

Heehee. I so loved your comments. They made my soul happy. And you're very welcome for the beta. I don't mind editing your stuff. Actually, I get a very sick sense of satisfaction editing other people's stuff. I considered trying to be an editor as a career, but after glancing at some of the books on the market - I realized I'd get very very sick to my stomach if I spend the rest of my life editing a bunch of crap that somehow got published, when I know my stuff is better. LOL. But your stuff is a different story.

Hehe! If I can find some adorable little girl pictures, I totally plan on making some adorable Jayne/Alley pictures. I know Adam has kids, it's just a matter of finding a picture of him with one of them...

...At least it did until Teri put up her Alley & Mal fic. Hehe.

Thank you for this. I really enjoyed writing it. (I'm working on another one because Jayne and Alley are almost my favorite couple to write about)

This was adorable! There's something naturally childlike about Jayne anyway in the series, I think, so it's wonderful to see this side of him.

His 'cunning hat' and how he sent home money for Mattie struck me that, however he ended up becoming a mercenary, he didn't start out one.

I love that Alleyne's adoration of him helps to shift his thinking just enough for him to consider a family of his own. After all, Avery is meant to be a home for all of them. Lovely post! :-D

*giggles at Jayne's fear about Mal getting wind of her crush*

Aw! Thank you so much for this! It's like you've seen into the very depths of my soul. Hee. That's exactly how I feel.

Something else I've always wanted to explore is Jayne's fear of River. My theory is that, he's had to harden himself so much to survive as a mercenary that he isn't too sure how to let his feelings out anymore. He pretty much reacts to everything with anger or violence. River sees through him and sees that he isn't as heartless as he pretends to be.

I feel like having Alley around has taught him to express himself and trust people again. Also, because kids are naturally more intuitive than adults are and Alley is likely to see through him just as easily as River does. River just knows to keep her distance.
