Sadly that's probably what some of the children would do. My thick-headed son as well.

I certainly hope he was acting on David's plans when he riled the tamers into a combat frenzy.

Well I certainly didn't plan for it, Drake certainly didn't plan for it (I'll let you in on who he is later), so that leaves David. And who else would deliberately have someone, or a few tamers for that matter play into Xellos' hands so easily?
