Last Friday I had my second Radiofrequency Ablaition; completing both sides of 5 levels in my lumbar region. I have two my sessions over the next month for those in my SI area; that area is currently fairly good with the steroid shots I got there is April ( Read more... )

That is awesome news. I was rather concerned when I saw the use of radio ablation in your first post until I read further... that's what they used to treat some of my mother-in-law's cancer tumors.

That makes sense to use them to deaden nerves. Does that mean they didn't have to make any incisions?

Also... yay to being able to do simple, everyday things without pain!

Sorry for the worry, no incisions and not even bandaids the second time after they blistered the first time. I think there were just 5 spots. She can just do one side at a time, I think from the amount of heat but not sure. In reading the research it seems to be one of the new things they are using on Osteoarthritis of the back and several other things. From the EDS (which you are one of the main reasons I ever learned about this at all, based on your hypermobility discussions during pregnancy) and all the lifting I did of my mom after her stroke left her where she couldn't stand anymore. My Lordosis got worse and the ligaments are so stretched out the vertebrea are sitting on each other and I get spasms often.
