 I just got an email telling me that I've been selected as a perspectives finalist

Of course, now I'm starting to look at the next few months,  and thinking about what I've got to do:

• thesis
• 2, or possibly 3, journal papers
• conference presentation (thank God the paper's already written)
• get funding for next year sorted
• find somewhere to live

Woo - congratulations :) Looking at the Perspectives website, these posters are apparently aimed at the general public, so the rest of us should be able to help you proof-read before you submit yours. The festival website seems to be really slow at the moment, so I'm not sure about the booking arrangements, but I may be able to attend your presentation and lend a bit of moral support.
