If you would like, I have some things that can be used as clubs, and several knives. I would prefer you only take one, so others might be able to arm themselves as well, if they haven't already.

As for the balls, they seem to completely obliterate any intelligence you have when you pick them up. I have not determined if there are any long-standing side-effects after you let them go, however.
