[ McCoy doesn't reply to her entry and opts to go outside to find the program instead. it's never easy, having someone from your world leave, and he needs to see if she's all right. ]

[Gem is sitting under a tree awkwardly, staring at one of her blue feathers she's pulled out of her wings. It hurt, but she wanted to see what it was like. Her circuits are flickering casually--but she isn't in any danger. She's just struggling with information she doesn't like.]

[ climbing the stairs to her apartment and not finding Gem was a little discouraging for McCoy (and physically demanding -- maybe he should start exercising regularly again) and he considers giving up and using the journal when he finally spots her sitting underneath the tree.

and seeing her in person after the recent shift manages to provoke a flurry of emotions in the man and his ears begin to burn. still, no going back now and jamming his hands into his pockets, he walks over to where the program is sitting. ]

But it's not like this is something he wasn't already planning on doing... nor is it anything he's planning on keeping a big secret, either. Plus, he's finding that he has every reason to want to trust fellow prisoners villagers over the Malnosso...]

Actually, yeah. I'm still going to keep track of them. I feel like it's still a good idea to watch out for patterns and to understand the nature experiments in general. Maybe it'll even give us clues to getting out of here.

What is it that you do, in your world, that makes you want to do this?

I'm a computer Program. While I was originally programmed for something else, over the cycles I became re-programmed to gather information. Study and watch the world we lived in, to give information to my leader, Zuse.

I think in some circles it would be called spying.
