So because of the Olympics, for nearly two months, there hasn't been bus service at UBC. There has been bus service to UBC, but not at UBC. The buses have had to take an alternate route down SW Marine Drive instead of the usual Wesbrook Mall, and only drop off and pick up passengers at the bus loop, which is nowhere near the science buildings. Do any of the bus stops along there have signs that indicate that the #43 stops at them? You'd think the bus driver could have an independent thought and realize it makes sense that he should stop there, even if his schedule indicates otherwise. Isn't that what they have radios for, to check up on this kind of stuff?

All the signs do, but you'd have to actually STOP to read the signs. And clearly this moron had no independent thought, as he kept saying, "That's what my schedule says!" But schedules can be WRONG, and I can't believe he had the nerve to argue with UBC students about where the bus stops are! Yeah, we're just making it up ( ... )

Hey, ignore my FB comments since I check FB before LJ. I wondered what that was about!

I don't know when the issue will be resolved, but if you take a bus to UBC, don't expect them to stop along Wesbrook Mall, even though they should! And for the #33 and #25, at least as of this morning, it was still indicating that those buses were rerouted, and not going down Wesbrook Mall at all.

The 25 stopped along Wesbrook, but I did notice that on the overhead "stop" display, it still said "UBC LOOP BAY 3" instead of calling out the stops along Wesbrook (as it did along before the Olympics). My bus driver even made an announcement when we were at Blanca (where the bus would re-route during the Olympics) saying that the buses were going along 16th/Wesbrook again. Obviously Translink hadn't updated their routes on computers etc, but my bus driver was competent enough to figure it out!! Anyway, it was nice not having to walk to LSC from the bus loop!!!

Clearly my driver was a moron and couldn't think for himself! It's one thing to follow the instructions, and another to call us liars! At least your driver was smart enough to realize that the computer was incorrect!

According to the Translink website, it's still showing the rerouting for the #25 and #33!

The bus loop isn't near the life science buildings, but it is pretty close to chemistry and physics.

Who cares about physics and chemistry; I'm in microbiology. With the exception of one arts course, none of my classes are in the chem or physics buildings, and I don't work late in the lab several times a week in those buildings!

Also, do you TRY to be annoying, or is that the way you are, and you just can't help it?

My point wasn't "you shouldn't complain because some science buildings are close". Rather, it was something like "you might want to clarify that it's life science / buildings, which you need to go to, that aren't close, because it currently sounds like a more general complaint than the you-specific one you seem to have inteded ( ... )

This is my journal. I'm in the life sciences. I don't need to clarify. The point is: the buildings I need are nowhere near the bus loop, and the world revolves around me, you know.

I'm not trying to be annoying, so perhaps it is just me. However, to me, you seem predisposed to unnecessarily take offence or find annoyance in about half my comments here.

Perhaps the problem is YOU. I dislike it when people--especially people who don't know me and who don't have access to my friends only entries--make assumptions about me and what I write (my public entries are all fluffy pieces of crap, BTW, and in no way represent what I am about), or fail to see what the post is about and try and make it about another issue.
