Did you google?

Did you even bother to read part of this post?

I own every single record they made, plus almost all of their singles.

And considering you are talking about courses, my response was cleverly a propos.

I didn't know you had even heard of Pulp--they are not well known, and it's an old song. Your response only indicated that you knew the song!

I don't expect people to read a long post like that, but I didn't want people to just guess the lyric and not bothering to skim, because it is an important post.

Of course not! You should know that my self-esteem is now irreparably damaged because of your unfounded assumption that I would use GOOGLE to look that VERY EASY lyric up!

Well, I wasn't sure if you needed to use google, but I suspect other people may not have known the lyric! :P

Re: teaching. I lived with a substitute teacher and she usually got calls the night before. We were a car-free household so she rode her bike or took the bus if it was too far and it (almost) always worked out fine. In the city of Vancouver at least, most schools are transit accessible 'cause the kids take the bus.

That being said, this new program sounds like something you'd enjoy and I hope it works out.

Thanks :)

I realize that most schools would be by a transit rout, as the kids of to get to school. But if I am called into somewhere like Delta, that would be a problem, as it would take so long to get to by transit.

(If any of you tell me that I am capable of graduate school and ask me why I don't want to get a PhD, shut up and take a moment to think: do you think you are capable of doing research, determining what each protein component on a complex multi-unit protein does, or sequencing the genome of such-and-such an organism? If the answer is "no", you have no business telling me that I am capable of it ( ... )

Exactly! And trying to figure out all the proteins and signals involved in a complicated biochemical pathway does sound absolutely horrendous!

I've never even heard of a medical library science degree! thats pretty awesome!

Psst--medical laboratory science! :P

But yeah, it does sound interesting, an I had not heard of it either. I'll probably have to do further schooling after, but it seems like it would open up more doors for me than a microbi degree.

"when we registered for classes over the phone and looked up our courses in a paper catalogue."

Ahh, those were the days! In a way, I think kids have it too easy today. I also remember the stress of waiting for my Year 12 (final year of high school here in Australia) results in the mail (which we only got mid January (after we'd finished exams back in early November)). Nowadays they just have to log in to some site about two weeks later. Sheesh.

I remember getting to see Pulp at one of my least favourite venues in Melbourne back in 1997 or thereabouts. I still play them when I do fills on the British music show on Triple R. Such memories!

Kids these days have no idea what it's like without computers and the internet!

Unfortunately, I have never seen Pulp. During the Different Class era, they never came to Vancouver, if I recall, and had they, I would have been underaged (they most likely would have played in a small club). I bought some of their other albums, but couldn't get into them; Different Class is the only one I like, but I love the album! One of my favourite CDs. I like all the songs on the CD, but Common People and Disco 2000 are definitely my favourites. The music and lyrics are so catchy.
