Don't fuck with my 'bucks

Trying to be ~environmentally friendly~, I bring a reusable coffee mug to school. I'm a Starbucks gal, and for those of you familiar with Starbucks, their sizing is as follows: short (8 oz), tall (12oz), grande (16oz), and venti (20 oz). I always order a tall coffee, as a grande is too much for me, so of course the reusable coffee mugs I buy are 12 oz mugs, which are unfortunately quite difficult to find, even in Starbucks stores, as they usually only sell 16 oz mugs. Even 8 oz mugs are easier to find!

Over the past couple of years, I've had a few reusable mugs, all purchased from Starbucks, but after a while, they've all cracked after being dropped, or being knocked onto the floor, as they were made out of hard plastic. (Not very environmentally friendly--using disposable paper cups is probably better than throwing out plastic mugs!) And for semester, I've had to go back to using disposable cups, because I could not find a 12 oz mug anywhere! (As a gift, my friend bought me a non-Starbucks mug, but it was a 14 oz mug! Argh!) But just before school started, I found a 12 oz mug at a Starbucks store, so I no longer have to use disposable cups. It's also metal, so while it will get scratched, it shouldn't break so easily.

The Starbucks I go to most often at school is in the SUB, but this morning, I went to the coffee kiosk in the bookstore, as it was more convenient to go there this morning, and they sell Starbucks coffee, so it was safe to go there. This was the first time I went to the coffee kiosk with my new mug (I went there quite often in the summer), and as usual, I passed the barista my mug and asked for a tall coffee (I always say the size so that they don't have to guess what size it is, and to make things easier). She put coffee in the mug, but it was several inches from the top. Yeah, you can't fill it to the very top, as you have to leave room for the lid, but it was significantly less than what it should have been! I asked her to add more coffee, and she got all huffy, and said, "It's a grande cup, not a tall." I told her that it was in fact a tall (it even says the size on the bottom of the mug!), and to "prove me wrong", she poured the coffee from my mug into a disposable cup (way to miss the point of a reusable mug!), and of course the coffee did not fill the cup, because she did not pour 12 oz of coffee into my mug!

She of course knew that she was busted (seriously, don't fucking argue with me when I am right!), but instead of apologizing or owning up to her mistake, she said, "Well, I need to leave room for cream." First of all, I hate milk (and milk-like products). Either I do not put any cream into my coffee, or I put in, literally, three or four drops. So that excuse doesn't fly with me, as I don't need room for cream. Second, you don't need several inches of room for cream. I have seen some people pour in an excessive amount of milk/cream into their coffee, but in those cases, they have dumped out half their coffee. So even if I were one of those weirdos who likes their cream with coffee, it's still better to give the customer the full amount of coffee they are paying for, rather than assume how much coffee they will drink!

I think this may be a ban-worthy offense.
