Samantha had never been one for ladylike domestic skills. The broken needle and half repaired hole in Jack’s trousers were proof of that. Since the Invaders had arrived, she was much better off with the masculine skills of shooting and riding that her father had taught her than most ladies with their fine needlepoint skills ( ... )
