(Just a tiny thing, a bread crumb if you will.)

Wyatt sighed against damp, warm skin, his cheek pressed and firmly stuck to the middle Glitch's ribcage. Fingers traveled, wandered and traced odd lines of hair and interesting creases in the in-between places.

There was a rough patch just above Glitch's hip on the left side. The question escaped before he could stop it. "Where'd you get this one?" Sometimes, he forgot himself. Forgot that Glitch still struggled with the details of his life, what with most of those memories still stored in an oversized glass jar.

But sometimes Glitch answered without hesitation, surprising them both.

"When I was...oh, nine annuals? It was at school. I was playing kickball with a few of the other kids who couldn't make it onto the sports teams. I tripped over the ball and fell and of course, I'd forgotten to take the pencil out of my pocket before joining the game. It stuck right in my stomach, right there. I remember that it didn't even hurt but everyone was screaming. Leona went for help. Now that I think about it, I must have been in shock."

Wyatt lifted his head, staring at Glitch in horror. "I can't believe you remember that so clearly. That must have hurt like a bitch."

Glitch turned his head, a frown pulling at the corner of his mouth. "What?"

"The - the pencil," Wyatt prompted, touching the scar with the tips of his fingers.

"What pencil?"

And once again, it was gone. Wyatt just shrugged and kissed Glitch softly, laying his head back down again. Fingers continued their endless journey.
