You know this could be good, and then again after reading this. ' "This is an opportunity to reinvent this franchise and make it relevant to a new generation," Howe said. "We really don't want to be more of the same. It's going to build clearly off the existing franchise but with a cast that gives it a younger vibe ( Read more... )

I ::heart:: Stargate Atlantis. We also watch it online. Because of time periods with no tv and/or no internet I wasn't able to really get into the original series though I did watch a few episodes and the original movie and some of the newer "movies"

Well I never fully got on board with Atlantis. I'll watch it if I see it but unlike SG1 where I would block out time from my schedule to see it. I remember telling my friends, 'how long is the movie? Well I'll have to go after nine otherwise I just can't go' lol :D

younger vibe sounds awful to me. will reinvigorate the franchise by targeting a younger audience sounds even worse.
Ah, well, we'll see. It's Brad Wright and Robert Cooper after all, it might be good.

I can see it now... Lost but on a spaceship... It reminds me of the 200th episode with the 'younger versions' of the cast. lol "yo dawg, where ya at?"

But yeah, with Brad Wright and Robert Cooper I hope it will turn out.

Do you think this is a response to the fact that Atlantis is pants, it never floated my boat, it just seemed to be a feeble attempt to revitalize a market after their realization that they shouldn't have canceled Farscape.

This just seems like they want to grab hold of Enterprise and try to Farscape it, or they have realized they cannot complete against George Lucas with his new gritty and angry Star Wars live action aimed at the BSG crowd.

Only time will tell.

I agree, but I don't think that they are getting the fact that most of us have moved on. So if you want to reformat it don't make if for a younger crowd, make it for the older crowd. You know the one that can't wait to see it!

And yes only time will tell.

I'm pretty skeptical myself. Thought I don't want to toss a verdict out early but the whole "younger audience" thing tends to make me think "teen after school special in space".

aha haha! "today kids we are going to find out why two nuclear bombs, subatomic nano technology and dark matter cannot be friends with a sun."

I just don't know like Dan said earlier, only time will tell.
