Kyouya, Tamaki

For 31_days. Feb 17th. spirits in the water

------------------

He woke up rather suddenly to a splitting headache, a crick in his neck and his mouth tasting like something furry and unidentifiable had died in there after crawling through a dozen sewers. Mercifully enough, the room that he was in was rather dark, curtains probably drawn tight to shut out the sun.

He would have been tempted to pull the covers over his head in natural response to the mental pounding, but there was a tiny, insistent voice in the corner of his mind that was telling him, Get up get up get up something's wrong here.

That "something" was a pair of violet eyes staring earnestly at his face and the faint smell of lavender that certainly did not belong to his sheets and the hand that was placed far too comfortably on his shoulder at this particular part of the day.

"Kyouya?" Tamaki was probably whispering, but it sounded like a shriek to his aching head.

"Tamaki." He croaked. "What are you do- Why are you- What?"

"I think you got a little bit drunk last night."

He fought the urge to sit up suddenly in the middle of the bed. It helped that Tamaki probably anticipated that move because there was a definite pressure on his shoulder now.

His frazzled mind tried to flick through his memories of 'last night'. There hadn't been anything surprisingly unusual, it was one of the host club's annual parties. He certainly didn't recall putting down an order for alcoholic beverages, simply because that was, after all, against the school's and his own principles. So how-

And then something clicked. He hadn't drunk anything that evening, being too busy attending to the logistics and the late band when the twins arrived with a cup of indistinct beverage and proffering it to him. He didn't think much of it at that time, secretly grateful for a chance to quench his thirst. "Twins?" he rasped.

"Probably. Who else?"

He pinched his eyes closed. "Tamaki, did I embarass myself?"

"Mori-senpai caught you lecturing a palm frond for not attending to its duties as a waiter and threatening to dock its pay." There was a mirthful twinkle in Tamaki's eyes, but at least he wasn't laughing.

"Thankfully, no one else had seemed to notice. Not even the twins, who were probably hoping to catch you doing something embarassing. Haruhi mentioned Kaoru waving about a camera to take pictures of the party, something that's never happened before. We weren't too sure if your father would approve of you being drunk, so I called him to say that you were staying over at my place."

"I'm going to kill the twins. Once this blasted hangover stops."

"The twins one-upped you this time, didn't they? Would you like some aspirin and water?"

He gritted his teeth. For once in his life, he was glad that it was Tamaki who was with him when he woke up. If his father had heard of this embarassment...Kyouya, at the moment, could not even begin to comprehend the possible after-effects.

"Yes, please." For some reason he felt compelled to add, "And no spirits in them, Tamaki."

"Poor mommy," Tamaki cooed.
