Marcon moving? (And Origins too)

I'm back from a wonderful weekend at Marcon, where I saw lots of friends, did panels, appeared as a celebrity square in Babylon Squares, and played Buffy in the Buffy Sing-Along

Origins has dates posted on their Facebook page through 2013, in June.

I would be mad as spit if Origins gets moved in to May: it blows our whole family vacation model of the con. And may cause us to massively curtail our plans for future attendance.

(Sorry, I have no opinion about Marcon per se)

The Marcon con chair reports that Origins told her they've signed a contract for the first week of June for 2012. The Origins web pages haven't been updated, so I have no way to verify this.

Marcon moving to Easter weekend? That sounds like a horrible idea. Keeping it on Memorial Day makes sense, even if we have to move to a different site.

Are you sure a decision has been made? It could just be a suggestion at the moment.

I just got the email on the Psi Phi list that it's official.

And frankly, I smell a rat, because it sounds like the decision was made using bogus information.
