Very intense!
For it's not surprising that Draco would do his best to push Hermione away; seeing as how, he knows how things are going to end. Bottom line, is that in being together neither of them will be getting, 'a happy-ever-after,'; instead they'll just be doomed to suffer knowing they can never truly be happy.
Therefore, Draco is only trying to spare what he can of any future pain, Hermione will have to suffer because of what he's done and who he is.
Although, obviously Hermione isn't willing to let go so easily; because even though, she knows that staying with Draco--means dealing with more possible moments of suffering. She knows that it'll hurt more to be separated from him; therefore, in her mind it's better to suffer together rather than apart and at least, in the meantime, they'll still be together.
Very good, to read. Not to mention, emotional, as well.

Very very intense! And your style is soooo good! The words you use and the sentences you make... the description was so alive I almost felt like shaking Hermione myself!
I liked that you didn't end it with 'and they lived happily ever after' because all the things Draco said (very IC by the way) are true, but regret of never having even tried would be worse :(
Loved it. I'm going to copy and paste this on banter too.
