Moving is definitely NOT a vacation, but I'm glad to hear you're getting settled. I'd send you a celebratory watermelon, but customs might think I'd injected it with Mad Cow and not vodka. *g*

The skin-peeling - were you doing a lot of cleaning this week? Too much bleach, etc?

PS: Pleas send some of that stink my way. It is chilly this week. Global warming is broken.

Hee hee, vodka!melon! :D

Yes, TONS of cleaning! That must be it. I will have to slather my hands in lotion for the next week or so!

Oh, if I could send you some of the stink, I SO WOULD. Like 25 degrees or so. This is ridiculous! Global warming is indeed broken. Thor needs to come fix it.

We are hot here as well - and sticky as all get out. Have AC at home, but its so temperamental that I never know if it's working when I get home.

HOWEVER - congrats on the house!!!

You know, if there is any upside to our heatwave, it is that we don't get the humidity like you do along with it. I am crossing my fingers for you that your AC is working great! I bought a little window unit from Costco a couple of years, and the poor thing is really struggling.

And thank you so much! *bounces*

A/C is the best invention ever. The end. It's been between 105 and 110 here every. single. day. this summer, plus that beautiful gulf coast humidity of death. Is it a wonder they use to call Houston the most miserable place on earth? Or that we are the most A/Ced city in the country? I can totally respect the not unpacking for a long long time in this heat! And you, my dear, are made of serious yay as well! I missed ya'll on Friday!

How can you STAND it?!?! I keep saying to myself, well, at least we don't have the humidity as well! You are a brave and wondrous people in Houston. :p

Yes, too hot to unpack! I think I might go see Harry Potter tonight. And again tomorrow night, heh.

Aww *hugs you*

Relax for a while, no need to completely unpack so soon. You deserve to just chill in the kiddie pool when you get home each night this week!

I'll probably just wander the aisles of Home Depot (which is air conditioned) and think about how to paint the bathroom, etc. Or maybe go see a movie! Too hot!

*hugs back*

Maybe we can have a contest and see who gets all their boxes unpacked and put away first! I've been challenged by skydiver119 to have everything *don* by the time she comes for our Chicago Con trip August 20th. Still plenty of time, right?

Ooh, good idea! That will get me motivated. Though I am seriously NOT doing anything in this heat. So I might have to start next week, LOL!

August 20th? Loads of time. Though make sure you save a box or two for her to help you with! :D

Wimp...though I do understand about the heat. You poor northwesterners. ;-) I don't think I can ask D to help me unpack anymore, poor gal actually helped me move it all from Omaha to Lincoln! The least I can do is make sure she space in the second bedroom in which to sleep when she's here!

I know, I'm so wimpy! My only defense is that we are not used to this, and we aren't adequately prepared (i.e. most homes around here do not have a/c).

Aw, D is a good friend!
